Date: 19th Dynasty (style)

Decoration: There are remains of the standard text programme. Anubis and the Sons of Horus are depicted on the box. The figures are painted yellow, the surface of the sarcophagus is dark blue.

IV.6 p-ḥm-nṯr (Pahemnetjer), London British Museum EA18

Provenance: Saqqara? (bought in 1839 from the Anastasi collection)131

Titles: wr-ḫrp-ḥmwt (great one of leader of craftsmen), stm (sem priest)

Material: red granite

Measurements: 240 cm x 87 cm

Date: 19th Dynasty. There are two high priests of Ptah with the name p-ḥm-nṯr. One is dating to the reign of Sety I, the other to the end of the reign of Ramses II.132

Decoration: The sarcophagus shows a reduced text programme: it is inscribed with a simple imakhu-formulae. Only the sides of the lid bear longer texts. From the sizeable dimensions it is possible that it functioned as the outer box for an inner sarcophagus (compare: VIII.2).

Titles: ἰmy-r ἰpt-nἰswt m (n) mn-nfr (overseer of the king’s harem in Memphis), ἰmy-r ἰpt-nἰswt n ḥwt-k-ptḥ (overseer of the king’s harem in Memphis), ἰmy-r ssmt (overseer of horses), ἰry-pḏt (general), sš nἰswt (king’s scribe), ṯw ḫwἰ ḥr wnmἰ nἰswt (fan beared to the right of the king)

Date: 19th Dynasty

Decoration: Standard text programme; Hapy: human-headed, Duamutef: baboon-headed and human-headed, Amset: human-headed. Duamutef appears twice, Qebehsenuef is not depicted.134 Thoth appears twice and only at the foot end of the long sides.
